Logline
The saga of working actor Nick Gomez, a near-famous actor, and his quirky team as they struggle through the industry’s absurd obstacles
Comparable Series
I’LL SHOW MYSELF OUT melds the gritty comedic drama of BARRY, the surreal elements and industry commentary of DAVE, the day-in-the-life irreverent vibe of IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and the clever, fourth-wall-breaking introspection of FLEABAG, creating a unique cocktail of awkward humor, bittersweet humanity, and mature themes.
Series concept
I’LL SHOW MYSELF OUT dives into the chaotic behind the scenes world of Hollywood's working-class, where Nick Gomez – a charismatic, near-famous actor – strives to keep his head above water.
He’s joined by his disillusioned pilot/screenwriter best-friend, his bat-shit veteran cousin, and his agent’s ambitious assistant, who really runs the show.
In a long-shot bid for relevancy, Nick and his crew navigate the ludicrous and heart-breaking obstacles of the industry.
Through a mix of comedy and drama, this series explores themes of ambition, friendship, and identity, all while the team works together (and sometimes against each other) to turn Nick's “kinda famous” status into a successful career.
Main Characters
Nick Gomez
Played by Nick Gomez
"I don’t even think I’m getting paid..."
Nick is "kinda famous" in a town where you're either a headline or a footnote, he’s the everyman with a SAG card, scraping his way up Hollywood's fickle ladder.
With a resume that reads like a scavenger hunt, his career is a high-wire act without a net, through countless sets and never-ending auditions.
Carl
Played by Stephen Montagne
"You know you’re the villain in this story, right?"
Carl is a regional airline pilot by trade but an aspiring screenwriter by passion, he navigates the struggle of working a job he endures rather than loves.
What Carl lacks in height, he makes up for in heart and sharp wit, however his tendency to over react to any inconvenience, or compliment, hampers his ability to achieve success.
Above all, he desires Nick’s attention and approval, and together they craft scripts to further their industry ambitions.
"I’m the cousin.
Hi. This is Guac.
I’m working...Here.
Now... Over."
Guac is the wildcard in every scenario. A Navy veteran with a murky past and mysterious motives, he inserts himself into Nick and Carl’s lives creating as many challenges as he does solutions.
In a town where everyone takes themselves too seriously, Guac's earnest charm, accidental wisdom, and dumb luck affords him effortless opportunities.
Simone
Played by Rainbow Dickerson
"If your problems were a movie, I’d skip the premiere."
Simone is the assistant to Nick's inattentive theatrical agent, Bruce. Her deft management skills and sharp instincts keep Nick's career from skidding off the tracks, and her phone holds more secrets than a studio vault.
Unwilling to remain in anyone's shadow, Simone is gearing up to take center stage with ambitions that stretch far beyond administrative duties. Simone is not just breaking out, she's taking over, and taking the guys with her… as far as she can.
